         The Village Church - Lutheran and The Samaritan Center have worked together for years for the betterment of the community.

         We have several members who work at the Center:  Lois Smith, Althea Daret and Kathy Capace work in the section called "Gran's attic".  They process donations and get them ready for the Center's use.  Pat Johnson works in the office.   When people come in requesting aid she obtains the information necessary in order to add the people to the aid list.

        In 2009 The Samaritan Center assisted 1,989 families of St. Tammany Parish including 2,778 children, 3,134 adults and 189 seniors. A quarter of the families served were new to The Samaritan Center. All proceeds from Gran's Attic Thrift Store supports The Samaritan Center and it's programs.

VISION STATEMENT

Our vision is to be a ministry sponsored by Mandeville and Lacombe area Christian churches unified to give witness to God’s concern for those in need, with the expectation of seeing lives transformed.

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to serve those in need by relieving emergency needs in the spirit of Christian charity. We will address those with longer-term needs by joining in a partnership with them that, through personal involvement, provides spiritual growth opportunities, counseling in basic life skills, job training, education and advocacy for services we do not provide.
